The AHNS sponsors a yearly head and neck oncology resident education symposium at the AAO-HNS meeting. This year the event will be held from 12-5:30 p.m. on September 25, 2010. The event is being coordinated by Dr. Marion Couch and Dr. Peter E. Andersen.
The purpose of the of the symposium is provide residents with a state of the art review of various aspects of head and neck surgery, as well as to hopefully excite them by the opportunities available in a career in head and neck surgery. The program will consist of a series of lectures by prominent head and neck surgeons. At the conclusion of the program there will be an informational session from 5-5:30 pm where interested residents can learn more about head and neck fellowship opportunities, the application process, etc.

OHANCAW is a weeklong series of events to educate the public about these potentially life-threatening, but eminently treatable cancers, and promote prevention, screening and early detection. In the past, events have included banquets, public service announcements, walkathons, and many other exciting activities.The highlight of OHANCAW is a day of free screenings across the country and abroad.
This year’s events will be held April 12 – April 18.
